저는 추상과 구상, 회화와 내러티브, 전통과 디지털, 작가와 기획자의 경계를 허무는 다분야(multidisciplinary) 예술가입니다. 
제 작업의 뿌리는 페미니즘적 탐구에 있습니다.  저는 여성혐오의 뿌리를 연구합니다. 드러난 증상만이 아니라 그것을 지탱하는 깊은 구조까지 탐구하며, 
회화를 비롯한 다양한 매체를 통해 그 뿌리를 드러내고 잘라내려 합니다. 하지만 저항은 끝이 아니라 출발점입니다. 저에게 페미니즘은 궁극적으로 인간과 세계에 대한 연민과 애정으로 확장됩니다. 여성혐오의 뿌리를 잘라내는 행위는 새로운 연결과 연대, 돌봄의 가능성을 가꾸는 일이기도 합니다.
제 캔버스는 종종 압축된 이야기에서 출발합니다. 미장, 디지털 프린트, 유화 같은 혼합 재료를 활용해 균열과 질감이 공존하는 표면을 구성합니다. 
그리고 이를 그래픽노블로 확장하여 정적인 이미지를 순차적 서사로 풀어냅니다. 이 전환은 캔버스에서 책으로, 개인적 사유에서 집단적 읽기로 이어지며,
 시각 예술과 문학의 경계를 허물어냅니다. <판도라의 딸들>, <헬라의 묠니르>와 같은 프로젝트는 이러한 접근을 잘 보여줍니다. 
판도라, 헬라, 메두사와 같은 신화적 여성들은 더 이상 수동적인 상징이 아니라 저항의 주체로 재탄생합니다. 
이 프로젝트들은 전시를 넘어 출판과 크라우드 펀딩, 집단적 경험으로 확장되며, 예술이 다양한 형식과 관객 속에서 살아 움직일 수 있음을 증명합니다.
저에게 전시와 출판은 별개의 결과물이 아니라 하나의 작업 안에서 서로 연결된 단계입니다. 
리서치, 과정, 결과, 그리고 확장이 모두 동일하게 중요합니다. 각 단계에서 저는 경계가 무너지고, 예술이 연민과 대화, 변화를 매개하는 장을 만들고자 합니다.

I am a multidisciplinary artist who crosses and dismantles boundaries—between abstraction and figuration, painting and narrative, tradition and digital, artist and curator. My practice is rooted in feminist inquiry: I study the roots of misogyny, not only its visible symptoms but the deep structures that sustain it. Through my work, I attempt to expose and cut these roots, transforming art into an act of resistance.
Yet resistance is not my final destination. For me, feminism ultimately expands into compassion and affection for humanity and the world. To cut the roots of misogyny is also to nurture possibilities for new forms of connection, solidarity, and care.
My canvases often begin as compressed narratives. Using hybrid materials such as plaster, digital print, and oil paint, I construct surfaces where cracks and textures embody both fracture and resilience. From there, I expand paintings into graphic novels, allowing static images to unfold into sequential stories. This transition—from canvas to book, from solitary gesture to shared reading—breaks down the boundary between visual art and literature.
Projects like The Daughters of Pandora and Hela’s Mjolnir embody this approach. By reimagining mythological women such as Pandora, Hela, and Medusa as agents of resistance, I restore erased voices and connect ancient struggles to contemporary realities. These projects expand beyond exhibitions into publications, crowdfunding campaigns, and collective experiences, showing how art can live across forms and audiences.
For me, exhibitions and publications are not separate outcomes but interconnected stages of one practice. Research, process, outcome, and expansion are all equally essential. In each stage, I aim to create spaces where boundaries collapse, and where art becomes a medium of empathy, dialogue, and transformation.

사랑과 욕망의 신 아프로디테의 명을 받아, 
조각가 피그말리온은 '사랑'을 주제로 작업을 시작했다.

처음에는 지나간 인연들이, 
그 다음에는 이루지 못한 꿈이, 
마지막에는 이별의 흔적이 보였다.


땀위로 눈물이 섞여 내렸다.


달무리도 함께 우는 기나긴 밤,
인고의 시간 끝에 드러난 형상은, 
피그말리온 그 자신이었다.


그는 그 형상을 '갈라테이아' 라고 이름 짓는다.

At the command of Aphrodite, 
god of love and desire,
the sculptor Pygmalion began his work—
a creation born of love.

At first, she saw the faces of past lovers.
Then came dreams that never came true.
And at last, the traces of parting.

Sweat mixed with tears as she carved.

And when the long hours of labor ended,
the figure that emerged—
was none other than herself.

She named the figure Galatea.

오는 7월 16일부터 21일까지 서울 인사동 아트프라자에서 열리는 수상자전에 참여하게 되었습니다.
시상식은 7월 16일(수) 오후 3시에 진행될 예정입니다.

7월 전시 일정은 조만간 별도의 게시물로 정리하여 공유드리겠습니다.

🌹Award and Exhibition Announcement

Hello, this is Ha Nok Kim.
I’m grateful and delighted to share another piece of exciting news.

I have been selected as a winner in the Western Painting category of the 4th Art Korea World Art Competition.
As a result, I will be participating in the awardees’ group exhibition,
which will be held from July 16 to 21 at Art Plaza, Insadong, Seoul.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 16 at 3:00 PM.

A separate post with a full schedule of my July exhibitions will be shared soon.
